Halo is a website-audit tool from DoubleO Lab Ltd. The core audit is free; Halo Pro is a paid subscription billed through Paddle that renews until you cancel. Halo gives guidance to help your pages, not guarantees of rankings or results. Please read these terms with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.
Who we are and your agreement.
Halo is provided by DoubleO Lab Ltd, registered in England & Wales (company number 17389244), registered office Flat 329 Crescent House, Golden Lane Estate, London, England, EC1Y 0SN. Contact support@doubleolab.com. By installing or using Halo you agree to these terms; if you use Halo for an organisation you confirm you're authorised to accept them on its behalf. You must be at least 18. A consumer is an individual acting mainly outside their trade or profession; other customers are business customers. Paddle acts as merchant of record for paid purchases; its buyer terms govern the transaction, and nothing here reduces mandatory consumer rights or applicable Paddle rights.
What Halo provides.
Halo analyses the page you choose to audit and relevant resources, assessing structure, content signals, structured data, crawling, rendering and other SEO and AI-readiness indicators. Its calculations and schema generation are rules-based; Halo does not use an AI language model to produce findings. Without an account you get a limited overview; registered Free users get detailed Content, Trust, Schema and Markup findings; Pro adds further sections and on-demand tools, as described before purchase. Some checks are run separately, and Google Search Console is an optional connection. Scores, verdicts and priority labels are Halo's own assessments — not certifications from Google or an AI provider — and a page audit is not a complete audit of a website.
Understanding and using results.
Halo provides information and suggested improvements. It does not guarantee completeness, accuracy, indexing, rankings, rich results, AI citations, traffic, accessibility compliance or commercial outcomes; blocking, permissions, timing, browser limits and third-party data can affect findings, and an unsuccessful check does not necessarily prove a fault. Use your judgement, verify material findings, and check generated JSON-LD against the page and platform requirements before publishing it. You are responsible for changes you make. These limitations do not remove our responsibility to meet the legal standards that apply to the product.
Accounts and permitted professional use.
Keep your account details accurate and your credentials secure, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You may use Halo for personal work, internal business work and client services, including lawfully auditing publicly accessible competitor pages, and you may share findings and generated outputs with colleagues and clients. Selling your own consultancy or audit services informed by Halo is fine; reselling access to Halo itself is not. Your licence is for one named individual per account, who may use Halo on their own compatible devices; login credentials may not be shared between people unless we expressly agree a team licence.
Licence and intellectual property.
We and our licensors retain rights in the Halo software, branding and content. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Halo for its intended purpose, subject to your plan and these terms. You keep rights in material you already own; auditing third-party material does not transfer ownership of it. You may use, adapt and share Halo's findings and generated schema for your own and your clients' work, subject to existing third-party rights. This does not transfer ownership of Halo or allow you to distribute its software as your own product.
Acceptable use and connected services.
Do not use Halo unlawfully, bypass access controls, access data without authorisation, overload sites or services, defeat subscription controls or infringe others' rights, and do not reverse-engineer Halo except where the law allows. Respect restrictions on the resources you access; public availability doesn't grant unrestricted reuse. Connect only Google accounts and Search Console properties you're authorised to use, including client properties where you have permission; disconnecting Search Console does not cancel a Pro subscription. Features may depend on Chrome, Google APIs, search-result sources and other providers, and upstream limits or changes can affect them; section 9 applies if a paid feature is materially reduced or withdrawn.
Subscription payments and renewal.
Pro is billed monthly or annually, as chosen at checkout, which shows the price, currency, billing period and applicable taxes before you confirm. Paddle handles payment, tax and invoicing, and subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. We will give at least 30 days' notice of a price increase; increases apply only from a renewal after that notice, never to a period you've already paid for, and you can cancel before that renewal. Promotional or beta access lasts for the period stated when offered. If a payment fails we may restrict Pro after notifying you and giving a reasonable chance to resolve it; a failed payment is not itself a cancellation.
Cancellation and refunds.
Cancel through Halo's Account panel, the Paddle subscription link in your receipt, or by emailing support@doubleolab.com. Ordinary cancellation stops future renewal and leaves Pro available until the paid period ends; uninstalling or signing out does not cancel billing. Cooling-off cancellation, faulty-product remedies and other refund rights are separate and are explained in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. Mandatory rights and applicable Paddle purchase terms take precedence over any conflicting restriction here.
Availability and product changes.
We aim to provide Halo with reasonable care and skill but can't promise uninterrupted access, and we may make reasonable changes for security, legal compliance, compatibility or improvement, with advance notice of materially disadvantageous changes where reasonably possible. If we discontinue Pro, or materially reduce paid functionality during your prepaid term and cannot offer a reasonable equivalent, you may end the affected subscription and request a proportionate refund for the unused affected period through Paddle — in addition to any stronger statutory remedy. Minor adjustments to checks or scoring are not, by themselves, a material reduction.
Suspension and termination.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary for a material breach, security threat, unlawful activity or unpaid fees, explaining the reason and giving a reasonable chance to resolve it where practicable; immediate action may be needed to protect users or comply with law. Contact us if you think a restriction is mistaken. If we end a paid subscription for reasons other than your material breach, we will arrange a proportionate refund for the unused paid term. If you request account deletion, we'll coordinate cancelling any continuing subscription.
Responsibility and liability.
Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that can't lawfully be limited. For consumers, we're responsible for foreseeable loss resulting from our breach or lack of reasonable care and skill; your statutory rights for digital content and services are unaffected. For business customers only, and subject to the non-excludable liabilities above, we exclude indirect or consequential loss and loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity or goodwill, and our aggregate liability arising from Halo in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of £100 and the Halo Pro fees you paid to Paddle for that period. This business limitation applies only to the extent lawful and reasonable.
Changes to terms and governing law.
We'll notify you before material changes take effect, giving a reasonable chance to stop using Halo or cancel renewal, and we won't use a change to remove accrued rights or reduce a paid entitlement you've bought. These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales; for business customers the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, while consumers keep the mandatory protections and local-court rights of their home country. Please contact us first with any complaint so we can try to resolve it — this doesn't restrict your legal remedies.
